Note 1 - In the week leading up to the final, the four candidates and the Metropole Orchestra performed all songs in theatre concerts in Deventer, Heerenveen, Amsterdam, and Etten-Leur. At these concerts, which were not broadcast on radio or television, the audience voted, making up half of the total of votes; the other half of the votes was cast by an expert jury on the night of the final itself
