BIOGRAPHY

Wolfgang Rödelberger was a guitarist who played in several jazz ensembles. From the early 1970s onwards, he worked as a studio arranger in Munich, often with artists contracted by producer Ralph Siegel. Rödelberger’s wrote orchestrations for Nicole, Costa Cordalis, Roberto Blanco, Karel Gott, Dschinghis Khan, and Peter Alexander. For Katja Ebstein, he wrote the magnificent arrangement to ‘Ich bin ein Berliner Kind’. Compositions by Rödelberger were recorded by Freddy Quinn and Peter Maffay.

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

Wolfgang Rödelberger arranged and conducted two West German entries, both composed and produced by Ralph Siegel: ‘Theater’ by Katja Ebstein in 1980 and ‘Johnny Blue’ by Lena Valaitis in 1981. Both songs finished in second place on the scoreboard.
