BIOGRAPHY
David Sprinfield (pseudonym of Daniel Sauveur Tome) began playing the piano at the age of 8. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he wrote songs for the likes of Sophie & Magaly, Les Felins, Alain Fondat, and Daniel Lubrano. Orchestrations of his were recorded for songs by Franck Olivier and Pierre Charby.
EUROVISION SONG CONTEST
David Sprinfield arranged and conducted the 1981 French Eurovision entry ‘Humanahum’ (composed by Jean-Paul Cara with lyrics by Joe Gracy, the team of songwriters which was also behind ‘L’oiseau et l’enfant’, which won the contest in 1977), performed by Jean Gabilou, who came 3rd – only 11 points behind the eventual winning song from the United Kingdom.
