BIOGRAPHY

Pascal Stive played the organ in the band accompanying Alain Stivell in his 1972 performance at the Olympia Theatre, Paris. Stive’s name can be found on 1970s records by various artists, being credited for playing the piano or keyboards. In 1980, Stive founded pop band The Dice (later renamed New Dice), which included Elaine Rowan and Bart Poloch. Furthermore, from the early 1980s onwards, he arranged songs by artists such as Michel Sardou, Patricia Lavila, Bruna Gilardi, Patricia Kaas, Marc Lavoine, Alain Souchon, and Michèle Torr. He wrote the orchestration to Dalida’s ‘La chanson du Mundial’, celebrating the 1982 World Football Championships in Spain. As a composer, he often worked with lyricist Jean-Michel Bériat.

Pascal Stive arranged and conducted the 1984 Luxembourg entry, ‘100% d’amour’, written by Patrick Jaymes, Jean-Michel Bériat, and the late Jean-Pierre Goussaud. It was sung by a young singer from Luxembourg, Sophie Carle, who came tenth in the international final, held in Luxembourg itself.
