Note - The audience having been invited to vote for their favourite by sending postcards, the result was announced in a programme on May 5th, 1956, with 'Voorgoed voorbij' and runner-up 'De vogels van Holland' being nominated to represent the Netherlands at the 1956 Eurovision Song Contest in Lugano. As Corry Brokken was unavailable to perform the reprise of her song on that day, she was replaced on the occasion by Jany Bron.
