BIOGRAPHY

George Hatzinassios (Γιώργος Χατζηνάσıος) studied composition and arranging in Thessaloniki, Athens, and Paris. From the early 1970s onwards, he composed songs for Marinella, Giannis Parios, Tania Tsanaclidou, Nana Mouskouri, Evridiki, and Alexia. He wrote soundtracks to various Greek motion pictures, including I Aliki dictator, Esy kai ego, and Knock Out. Hatzinassios won various awards for his compositions, including the Rose d’Or for his song ‘Otan gyro nychtonei’.

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

George Hatzinassios composed, arranged, and conducted the 1977 Greek entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, ‘Mathema solfege’. The song was interpreted by Pascalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy in the contest final in London and finished on a respectable fifth spot – the best result for Greece in the contest until 2001.
